Nestled within the olive-dotted hills of Mani, Greece, this pair of guest houses seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with the rugged beauty of the region’s landscape. Drawing inspiration from the minimalist forms of traditional Mani stone towers, the design balances modernity and heritage through monolithic volumes crafted from earthy brick and exposed concrete. Perforated metal screens accentuate the facades, providing a dynamic interplay of light and shadow while offering privacy and natural ventilation. Expansive glass openings frame breathtaking views of the surrounding olive groves, ensuring a constant dialogue between the interior spaces and the serene outdoors. The project’s material palette, featuring locally sourced elements, grounds the architecture in its environment while maintaining durability and elegance.
Thoughtfully integrated into the terraced terrain, the guest houses preserve the natural vegetation and respect the topography, offering shaded outdoor spaces and terraces that extend the living areas into nature. Combining sustainable design principles with timeless aesthetics, these guest houses serve as tranquil retreats, capturing the essence of Mani’s raw beauty and cultural authenticity.
